Natalia Vodianova Etam's latest designer

London, England (CNS) - Russian model Natalia Vodianova has designed lingerie collection for Etam, the high street brand of the eighties and early nineties. The chain that failed to survive in Europe, recently received a glamour dose when it chose Vodianova as its brand ambassador.

The 26-year-old uber model invited some of her close friends to an Etam catwalk show at The Ritz, Vogue.com reports. The audience was able to watch her debut the newest designs for s/s 09 and included Lou Doillion, Eva Herzagova and Princess Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco, Elle magazine reports.

The collection of Natalia pour Etam will include polka dot sets, a grey lace corset and a silk night gown. Most of her desings are inspired by her personal collection.

"What I realised when designing this is how feminine I am - I'm feminine to the bone. I wanted the line to be for women who are not afraid, who like to play," Natalia said of her range. The collection will be available in selected outlets from April.

The Lady of the Manor takes us on an interactive journey of decadence and debauchery inside the aristocratic world of the Manor, the lady of the house, and her scantily clad maids. Cleary targeted at the male lingerie buyer complete with schoolboy fantasies of frolics and spankings with the servants.

Google Bans these Lingerie Ads For “Sexual” Content:

An Amercian lingerie outlet has had its online advertisements removed from Google after the web giant denounced them as too risque.

The ads were part of a Christmas campaign by Colorado-based lingerie retailer Pampered Passions to encourage men to buy sexy smalls for their lady friends.

But the images - most of which wouldn't earn a second glance from most self-respecting Brits, let alone Europeans - brought on the blushes over at Google, where they were written out by the censor's pen.

“The ad has been disapproved for adult content," a Google representative told the firm. "Only family safe images will be approved. Images which are classified as non-family safe or adult content are disapproved and will not run. Your image contains nudity and mature themes.”

But a statement by Pampered Passions argued that the images were "completely acceptable to UK audiences" and sniffed at the US web giant for being prudish and applying policies which seemed rather "conservative for European consumers" .

“An outright ban on ads no ruder than a Christmas cracker joke and featuring less flesh than a swimwear catalogue seems pretty ‘uncool’ to us”, the company said.

Here is an example of the lingerie available from Pampered Passions, I am sure you will agree the range is pretty sexy and the ads that have been designed to support it would seem entirely approriate.

At the Lingerie Directory UK we think Google's beghaviour is an outrage, surely it is up to publishers like us not advertising agencies such as Google to determine what is appropriate content for our readers. We have written to Google to express our concerns as this is exactly the sort of advertisement that this site should be hosting. It is entirely consistent with the approach the industry takes to TV advertisements that generally target men with such humour. Phil Collins removes bra on You Tube

The Lingerie Directory UK was the first to report that the Wonderbra spoof of the Cadburys Gorillas ad had been withdrawn, despite Wonderbra taking it down in mid November it could still be viewed until yesterday as we had also posted it to You Tube. We asked Wonderbra to advise us why they had withdrawn it but they ignored our request. But today we got to the bottom of it when we recieved our own Copyright Infringement notice issued at the request of Philip Collins Ltd.

With over half a million views on You Tube, the Wonderbra advert which used his 'Something in the Air Tonight' no doubt played a significant role in helping the single re-enter the UK charts so it seems somewhat churlish to force its removal. It is also pointless, since our post has been removed three further instances of the video have been posted.

The Lingerie directory UK discovered this evening that one of the most successful viral advert campaigns ever to run in the UK has ran right off the rails.

Wonderbra had recreated the Cadbury's Gorillas ad exclusively for use online featuring twenty year old songwriter and model Jentina. She does a fantastic job imitating the Cadbury gorilla drumming to the Phil Collins' song 'In the Air Tonight' dressed only in a Wonderbra and jeans.

Whilst visitors to the Wonderbra UK website are still greeted by the self congratulatory message about how the ad is an internet sensation, when they click the invitation to 'watch it here' they land on You Tube with with the disappointing red text 'This video has been removed by the user'.

It raises some interesting issues, we don't yet know why Wonderbra have taken it down but if it was for copyright infringement what happens next? It is the nature of a viral advertisement campaign, which releases material on the internet to be propagated via social networks and video hosts, that once it is out there it is out there! Already there are eighteen other copies of it on You Tube alone, not to mention copies now emerging on other video hosting services.

In case you have missed them here is the original Cadbury advert and the Wonderbra spoof. We are awaiting a response from Wonderbra as to why they have taken such a successful video down after it has been viewed over quarter of a million times in a single week. We can only think of two potential reasons, either they have encountered legal issues, or they are about to take the campaign to the next level.

The campaign was overseen by marketing director Gordon Lee who Wonderbra manufacturer DB apparel recruited from Ann Summers back in September. Lee is no stranger to controversy, just last August an advertisement to promote Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit Wave vibrator was banned from being displayed on the tube network by Transport for London.

Lee has a reputation for smoothing over the waves though, back in 2005 when the family of author D.H. Lawrence complained about Ann Summers cashing in on the authors lascivious character with the 'Lady Chatterley' lingerie range it was Lee that stated ""Whatever the legal situation, we'll bend over backwards to accommodate." This despite the view held by most analysts that since Lawrence was dead, and Lady Chatterley was not a trademark, Pollinger who manage the Lawrence litery estate had little legal recourse. Pollinger accused Ann Summers of being a "mischievous company" and it seems that culture may be moving to DB Apparel with Lee.

Good luck is what we say, a bit of controversy, amusing marketing, it can only be good for the lingerie industry, and can we really see it damaging chocolate sales?

Lingerie shop burns as sparks ignite feather boas

Things got steamy in all the wrong ways Saturday at Priscilla’s, a lingerie shop at 2690 Nicholasville Road.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 12:32 p.m., after a light fixture in the ceiling failed, emitting sparks.

“It just happened to be over the display of feather boas,” said District Major Harold Hoskins of the Lexington Fire Department. “The majority of their merchandise was destroyed.”

No one was injured.

Police are searching for a shopper who set some lingerie on fire inside the K-Mart store on South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando. Shoppers were briefly evacuated on Sunday because of the fire.

Workers said a shopper set a rack full of bras on fire. Firefighters were called to the business and quickly put out the fire.

Whoever started the fire was able to get away.

Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating in the hope that surveillance video from the store will help them identify the suspect.

It may be 45 years since 'From Russia with love' but as the Moscow time reports today in Russia, there is an established culture of lingerie. A Taiwanese lingerie company encouraged its entire female office staff to go to work in their lingerie for the day. Naming November 21st Camisole Day to celebrate record sales.

The Sing Hwa group which manufactures lingerie also markets under the Audrey brand (for Attractive, Urbane, Delightful, Romantic, Elegant and Young) and owns a chain of over 250 high street retailers called Easy Shop which in keeping with the Easy Shop name are decorated bright orange. Come on Stellios, own up what is your involvement?

All 500 women working in the firm’s headquarters were encouraged to wear only camisoles and knickers - much to the excitement of their male colleagues. “We have been waiting for this day all month. Today, we are super high, and don’t know where to put our eyes,” salesman Cai Mingda told Straits News. More than 90% of female workers reportedly went along with the spirit of the day and worked in their underwear. Perhaps these young ladies pictured on the Easy Shop website were the 10 %.

Liao Wenshen, 30, said; “The men were red-faced all day, and were becoming so polite to us. It’s so funny!” Zhang Yufeng, 32 and a mother of two added, “I have been on a strict diet to get ready for the day. When I was trying on my outfit at home, my husband told me I should dress like this every day.” We are not surprised; Audrey certainly makes an attractive range. Here are some of examples.

Huang Bihui, PR manager of the company, explained: "We introduced eight new camisoles into market and sold more than 20,000 in less than two months so we named the 21st as Camisole Day."

Employment lawyers said there was nothing illegal in the move so long as it was voluntary but it had its critics. Wu Juanyu complained: "Some women may feel forced to join in because of peer pressure and job competition. I don't know if the company is selling underwear or women's bodies."

The company has plenty to celebrate taking a US$100 million share of the domestic lingerie market since launching its first retail store in 2001. It was a bold move for a manufacturer to vertically integrate right through to the high street but with lingerie representing a full third of the Taiwan US$2.5 billion domestic market it was one worth pursuing.

The biggest breasts in Europe!

British women have the largest breasts in Europe and they are getting bigger with each generation.

The average bust size in the UK has increased in a decade from 34B to 36C and Marks and Spencer has led the way amongst high street retailers in servicing the demand for larger bra sizes. They have announced they are increasing their current range by three sizes up to a J cup. "We noticed a definite trend among younger women needing a larger cup size, but these sizes are more difficult to come by, and up until now women had to seek out specialist fitters to get their bras custom-made." says Soozie Jenkins, head of M&S's lingerie design.

Leading online retailer figleaves.com is also providing larger sizes from brands such as Freya, Lejaby and Panache.

But why is it happening? Undoubtedly silicone plays a role with over ten thousand cosmetic implants being carried out every year. However other causes are sited which may have a role.

Breast tissue is very sensitive to hormones with some women having a noticeable increase in breast size as they approach their period. This has led to speculation that the contraceptive pill is linked to the increase with some people going as far as to claim that oestrogen that gets into the water supply from women taking the might be a factor. However, there is less oestrogen in the pill now than there used to be.

Some people speculate that artificial hormones used in food production could be a factor but nobody has produced any research that supports this and similar levels of hormones are used in other countries.

So despite the rush by the daily papers to pick up on Marks & Spencer announcement with stories of bigger boobs and all of the pseudo scientific speculation to explain the phenomenon is seems we are simply carrying more body fat in general than ever before. This is supported by the less headline grabbing fact that waist and hip sizes have increased in proportion.

Apart from top models Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio and Karolina Kurkova dressed in beautiful lingerie the highlight of Victoria Secret Lingerie Fashion Show at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood last night was the reunion of the Spice Girls. The girls wore 40's style WWII outfits for 'Stop' the first of two songs they performed. For the second number they sang 'Friendship Never Ends' dressed in Roberto Cavalli gowns.

Heidi Klum also sang live for what she claimed would be the first and last time with her husband Seal, after which she said "It's very romantic for me, In that moment, I don't see anybody. It's just him and I."

Seal replied with "I feel like the luckiest guy in the world, here I am, married to the most beautiful woman in the world,inside and out. The most exceptional person I have ever come across. The woman with the most integrity and the most amazing work ethic. I am so fortunate to be part of her life."

The Lingerie directory UK discovered this evening that one of the most successful viral advert campaigns ever to run in the UK has ran right off the rails.

Wonderbra had recreated the Cadbury's Gorillas ad exclusively for use online featuring twenty year old songwriter and model Jentina. She does a fantastic job imitating the Cadbury gorilla drumming to the Phil Collins' song 'In the Air Tonight' dressed only in a Wonderbra and jeans.

Whilst visitors to the Wonderbra UK website are still greeted by the self congratulatory message about how the ad is an internet sensation, when they click the invitation to 'watch it here' they land on You Tube with with the disappointing red text 'This video has been removed by the user'.

It raises some interesting issues, we don't yet know why Wonderbra have taken it down but if it was for copyright infringement what happens next? It is the nature of a viral advertisement campaign, which releases material on the internet to be propagated via social networks and video hosts, that once it is out there it is out there! Already there are eighteen other copies of it on You Tube alone, not to mention copies now emerging on other video hosting services.

In case you have missed them here is the original Cadbury advert and the Wonderbra spoof. We are awaiting a response from Wonderbra as to why they have taken such a successful video down after it has been viewed over quarter of a million times in a single week. We can only think of two potential reasons, either they have encountered legal issues, or they are about to take the campaign to the next level.

The campaign was overseen by marketing director Gordon Lee who Wonderbra manufacturer DB apparel recruited from Ann Summers back in September. Lee is no stranger to controversy, just last August an advertisement to promote Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit Wave vibrator was banned from being displayed on the tube network by Transport for London.

Lee has a reputation for smoothing over the waves though, back in 2005 when the family of author D.H. Lawrence complained about Ann Summers cashing in on the authors lascivious character with the 'Lady Chatterley' lingerie range it was Lee that stated ""Whatever the legal situation, we'll bend over backwards to accommodate." This despite the view held by most analysts that since Lawrence was dead, and Lady Chatterley was not a trademark, Pollinger who manage the Lawrence litery estate had little legal recourse. Pollinger accused Ann Summers of being a "mischievous company" and it seems that culture may be moving to DB Apparel with Lee.

Good luck is what we say, a bit of controversy, amusing marketing, it can only be good for the lingerie industry, and can we really see it damaging chocolate sales?
